FORT WORTH , TEXAS – American Airlines enlisted the help of dozens of massage therapists today, part of an effort to support embattled ticket agents and other airline workers at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport . Airline staff who are helping passengers delayed by MD80 aircraft inspections will enjoy massage “stress breaks” between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, today through Sunday.
“Massage begins relieving stress in literally seconds, so it is a perfect way to help busy employees cope with a hectic situation,” said Devorah Slavin, president of Stress Recess Massage, the company managing most of the massage therapists here today.
“They are calling us their ‘angels’,” said Lisa Michaels, Stress Recess Assistant Team Leader. Michaels, who was one of the first therapists to arrive at the airport this morning, expects to personally provide about 250 massages this weekend.
